About home & office appliances scrap

A refrigerator or air conditioner carries a compressor with copper windings, a copper or aluminium condenser coil, a steel body and refrigerant gas. The gas must be recovered by a technician before dismantling — venting it is both illegal and environmentally serious — so cooling appliances follow a controlled route rather than being cut open in the yard.

Washing machines, fans, mixers, pumps and printers are simpler: motor copper, steel body, some board and plastic. These are quoted per piece based on size and motor type, and we collect them from wherever they sit, including upper floors.

As with computers, a working appliance may be worth more sold or repaired than scrapped. If yours is still functional and reasonably recent, we will tell you so rather than buying it at scrap value.

What decides the rate

Rates move with the market, so we do not publish fixed numbers. These are the factors we assess when quoting home & office appliances scrap.

Motor and compressor

Copper winding weight is the main value in most appliances.

Size and type

A split AC and a table fan are not remotely comparable, hence per-piece pricing.

Working condition

Functional recent units may be worth more repaired or resold.

Access

Upper-floor removal of heavy units adds handling but is still part of our service.

Get the better grade

  1. Do not cut open a fridge or AC yourself; refrigerant must be recovered by a technician.
  2. Keep remotes, stands and accessories with the unit.
  3. Tell us the floor and access route when booking heavy appliances.
  4. Empty and dry out fridges and washing machines before pickup.
