The board above shows three different things, and the difference between them matters. The global and India rows are refined-metal benchmarks — LME and MCX quote 99.9% cathode and ingot, not scrap. They tell you which way the market is moving. The bottom row is what we actually pay at the yard for scrap, as a range.
Scrap always trades below the refined benchmark, because it still has to be collected, sorted, cleaned and re-melted before it becomes metal again. How far below depends on the grade: clean bare bright copper sits far closer to the benchmark than insulated cable does. Anyone quoting you the LME price for a bag of house wiring is not going to pay it.
Three things set your own rate: what the material actually is, what condition it is in, and how much of it there is. Everything below is a variation on those three. None of it is negotiable in the sense of haggling — it is arithmetic on grade and weight, which is exactly why we do it in front of you.
Every row carries the time it was last updated, and anything we have not refreshed within 48 hours is marked stale rather than presented as current. For a firm figure, send photos and an approximate weight — quoting costs you nothing and carries no obligation to sell.
Common questions
- Is the board the price you will pay me?
- The local row is an indicative range for that material, and your load lands somewhere in it depending on grade. It is not a firm offer on unseen material — no honest dealer can make one. The final figure follows grade assessment and weighing in front of you, and it will be within the published range for the grade you actually have.
- Why is your rate lower than the LME or MCX price?
- Because those are refined metal — 99.9% cathode copper, not scrap. Your material still has to be collected, sorted, stripped of insulation or attachments, and re-melted before it becomes that. The gap between the benchmark and the scrap rate is that work. Clean, well-sorted material sits closer to the benchmark than mixed or contaminated material does.
- How often is the board updated?
- On trading days. Each row shows when it was last edited, and anything older than 48 hours is flagged as stale rather than shown as current — so you can tell at a glance whether you are looking at a live number or an old one.
- What is the scrap rate today?
- Call 8838809493 or send photos on WhatsApp. We will quote the current rate for your specific grades, which is a more useful answer than an average that may not apply to your material at all.
- Can you match another dealer's quote?
- Tell us what you were quoted and for what grade. If the material genuinely grades that way we will be competitive; if the quote assumes a grade your material is not, we will show you why rather than match it and adjust later.
- Is the quoted rate what I actually get paid?
- Yes, applied to the verified weight of each grade. The only thing that changes between quote and payment is the grade assessment once we see the material — which is why we do that part in front of you.
- Do you charge anything for collection?
- No. For eligible quantities, pickup, labour, dismantling and transport are included in the rate rather than deducted afterwards.
