About factory surplus & clearance scrap

Clearance work is a mix of materials and logistics. A warehouse lot might contain steel racking, wooden pallets, obsolete stock, packaging, cable, furniture and a few tonnes of mixed metal. Sold piecemeal it takes months; sold as a lot it takes days, which for most businesses is the point.

Where finished goods are involved we agree in writing what happens to them. Branded or defective stock is frequently required to be destroyed rather than resold, and we will not put branded rejects back into the market without your written instruction. Where destruction is required, we provide a certificate.

Timelines are usually driven by a lease handover. Tell us the date and we will plan the visits backwards from it, working after hours where a live site needs it, and sweep the space clean at the end.

We sort and weigh each grade separately in front of you rather than averaging a mixed load down to its lowest rate.

What decides the rate

Rates move with the market, so we do not publish fixed numbers. These are the factors we assess when quoting factory surplus & clearance scrap.

Material mix

The metal fraction usually carries the lot; packaging and furniture add little.

Resale value

Racking and usable furniture can be worth more resold than scrapped.

Labour and vehicles

Number of visits, crew size and vehicle trips are the main costs.

Destruction requirements

Certified destruction of branded stock is quoted as a separate line.

Get the better grade

  1. Walk the site with us once and settle the scope in writing before work starts.
  2. Confirm what must be destroyed rather than resold, and get that in the agreement.
  3. Give us the lease handover date up front so visits can be scheduled backwards from it.
  4. Flag any bonded, leased or hypothecated goods before the first visit.

Metal to melting, paper and plastic to their own recycling streams, and usable racking and furniture resold where permitted.

What happens to rejected branded stock?
Nothing without your written instruction. Where destruction is required we destroy it and issue a certificate.
